The electronic end of course evaluation system is managed for the College of Arts & Sciences by the Office of Undergraduate Curricula.

Spring 2020 Information

The College administers end of course student evaluations of teaching through the electronic system Explorance Blue.  All College departments are participating in the electronic system, along with most professional schools, beginning with the Summer 2017 semester.

Evaluation schedule for participating courses in the College of Arts & Sciences:

Evaluations open for BIOL and CHEM lab sections on Monday, April 6, 2020.

Evaluations open for all courses on Monday, April 13, 2020.*

Evaluations close at 11:59pm on Friday, April 24, 2020.*

*Open and close dates for evaluations may be customized to the course for faculty led study abroad experiences.

System Access Options:


Evaluations can be accessed via ConnectCarolina.

The Blue Course Evaluation System link can be found under Student HomePage Links on your Student Home Page.

Course evaluations can be accessed via Sakai (if you login with your onyen).

Students will see a “Course Evals” option on the left-hand menu in Sakai. Clicking on that option will show their course evaluations within the Sakai environment.


Evaluation reports, question personalization, and response rates can be accessed via ConnectCarolina.

The Blue Course Evaluation System link can be found under the Admin WorkCenter Links.

On the Faculty POrtal, the Blue Course Evaluation System link is at the bottom of the Student Admin menu.

This will take you to your Blue Dashboard which will display any open tasks (question personalization, response rate viewing which displays as “View and manage questionnaire settings” tasks) and any available reports (present and past).


You can also access the Blue Course Evaluation System directly using your onyen and password to log in at this url:

Be aware that if you hold multiple roles in the system (ie you are an instructor and a student or you are an instructor and a department administrator) you will be asked to select a user role when you log in.  User groups include Student, Instructor, and CAS_Dept_Users (College Department Users).
